April 25th 2002 I have decided to keep a journal. Nothing happened today, so this seems a good place to start. April 26th 2002 Work on the comic continues rather uneventfully. Reader response has picked up a bit since I started. April 27th 2002 I mailed an old box of origami to a random name out of the phone book because I couldn't think of anything else to do with it. Later today it started raining. April 28th 2002 My cousin Gregory called, he says he plans to visit some time in May. I don't really mind visiting him, but whenever he comes here he expects us to treat him like royalty. Perhaps I can change his mind by claiming I bought a dog, as he has bad allergies to them. April 30th 2002 In the absence of anything worth writing down happening to me, I have drawn a small picture of a shark. However, I decline to put it in the journal. May 2nd 2002 I have now removed the leaf-blower comic from the archives entirely, for fairly obvious reasons. May 3rd 2002 Nothing appreciably momentous happened today. More déjà vu then usual. It rained again. May 5th 2002 While at a restaurant yesterday, I saw a man with a very tall stovepipe hat which gave me an idea for a new Temporalectopia character. For some reason it did not occur to me to write this down until just now. May 6th 2002 More rain. May 9th 2002 Purchased Snake'N'Bacon's Cartoon Cabaret, a very funny comic by Michael Kupperman. Featuring such classic lines as "Look, Cartwell, your building is simply TOO TALL! I predict that on the earth's next rotation, we are going to bump into the moon!" And "No, I ain't seen no other escaped convicts round here, just other hillbillies like myself." "Yes, I'm a hillbilly as well." May 10th 2002 Registered to vote in the Cartoonist's Choice Awards. May 12th 2002 Someone has spraypainted a smily face on the large rock outside my house. Not really sure what to think of it. | ![]() |
