Here's the official unofficial release of ZAP, a ZZT editor for Windows. It never got past a beta release, and to my knowledge SaxxonPike has stopped working on it. However, it is the only editor that has a native Windows interface, as opposed to the textmode interfaces of KevEdit and ZZTAE. And as a bonus, it also edits SuperZZT files!

Xtopia5.zip - I'm sorry, I know ZZT games are thin on the ground nowadays but I am not adding this, nothing personal, no STK and under the 10kb mark. Removed

rd(replacement).zip - No STK and the file name's too long; ZZT hates spaces! Please resubmit, maybe it'll be added in 2013. For now it's removed.

AZAZAZA.zip - This is obviously unfinished. I left it alone

CAT, CAT, THAT DAMN CAT by Commodore

Preposterous Machines by Drake Wilson

Commodore's game is about a cat. The gameplay's fairly easy, but the engine is cool, and the atmosphere is excellent. Minefield is a Minesweeper-like puzzle game, something I haven't seen before. Pathways is a neat engine/puzzle game, and Diggaman is an interesting looking adventure game, complete with custom font! Last but not least, Preposterous Machines is an awesome set of engines you'd never think possible in ZZT. You won't believe it until you see it, so go see it.

Not added:
Xtopia5.zip - This game did not use any STK colors. Use a toolkit or an external editor to make your game more colorful!
rd(replacement).zip - Same problem as above. Also, since ZZT is a DOS game, you might want to choose a shorter name for the .zzt file (eight characters is safe).

I finally got around to correcting the listing for the December 1999 GOTM: the title and authors (Dragon Eye, by mini_maul and qndeb) are now correct. Thanks to EvilMario for catching that!

Also, if you haven't heard, the free webhost GeoCities is shutting down on October 26. If you know of any sites worth saving (ZZT-related sites in particular), please inform the Internet Archive people, or let us know, or both! And maybe something archival will happen.
